 Visitation Hours

Please be advised that visitation will be interrupted over the next few weeks due to jail expansion construction in preparation for the new Video Visitation Center. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions contact Cpt. Wilson at 652-7777.

Unit 1: Visitation now takes places in the Video Visitation Center from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays.

Unit 2: Visitation is suspended from April 27-May 6.

  • 2A, 2B, 2C Visitation will resume May 7 at 9 a.m. in the Video Visitation Center on Mondays and Thursdays.
  • Special 2A segregation and 2C high risk will resume visitation on May 9 at 9 a.m. in the Video Visitation Center on Wednesdays and Fridays

Unit 3: Visitation will be suspended from May 11-20.
Visitation will resume May 25 at 9 a.m. in the Video Visitation Center on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Unit 4: Visitation will be suspended from May 4-13.
Visitation will resume May 14 at 9 a.m. in the Video Visitation Center on Mondays and Thursdays.

Unit 5: Visitation will be suspended from May 18-25.
Visitation will resume May 26 at 9 a.m. in the Video Visitation Center on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Unit 6: Visitation will be suspended from May 18-25.
Visitation will resume May 28 at 9 a.m. in the Video Visitation Center on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.


 Search for an Inmate
Regular Visitation
Inmates are allowed visitors two (2) days per week. Children less than seventeen (17) years of age will be permitted to visit only if they are accompanied by an adult. Visitors must provide a current and valid identification with 1) Picture, 2) Name, 3) Address, 4) Date of Birth, and 5) Social Security Number. A State Identification Card or State Driver's License is preferred as an identification method. Hand written identification cards are not a valid identification form nor are those with disclaimers stating, "no responsibility for acceptability". All identification cards will be held by a staff member during visitation. Regular visitation may take place for up to twenty (20) minutes. A visitor may visit only once per day. Visitors must be signed up 30 minutes prior to the end of the inmate's visitation time in order to visit an inmate.

Out of Town Visitation
An out of town visitor defined as one who travels from a distance of greater than one hundred and fifty (150) miles outside of Savannah, Georgia. 1. Visitors from out of town must present a valid identification containing the same general requirements as regular visitation. No more than two (2) Out of Town visits may be approved within a given week (Sunday through Saturday) and may occur according to the following scheduled hours. For those having received an approved out of town visitation, a forty-five (45) minute visitation period will be given. 2. A visitor may visit only once per day. The exception: Those visitors with immediate family members ( blood relationships ); ( 2-sons, 2-daughters, or a combination of the two, a husband and son or wife and daughter or combination of these, or mother and father ) may visit both on the same given day

 Visitation Rules
  • All visitors must have a valid Government/State/School picture I.D. with date of birth and current address.
     
  • All visitors who are under the age of 17 years must be accompanied by an adult.
     
  • Disruptive, argumentative or unruly behavior by any visitor at anytime will be grounds for termination of that visit.
     
  • No child is to be left alone; all children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children who are who are left unattended or are unruly, will cause the visitation to be terminated
     
  • Only a valid I.D. and keys are allowed in the visitation area. All other items are considered contraband and are to be secured in your vehicle (RECOMMENDED) or lockers provided in the waiting area. This includes, but not limited to: Cell Phones, Pagers, Blue tooth headsets, Purses and other items as deemed contraband by security staff.
     
  • Cell phone usage in the waiting or visitation area is prohibited and will result in termination of visitation.
     
  • Females can wear shorts, capris, skirts, and dresses that fall to the top of the knee are allowed.
     
  • No distasteful or extremely tight fitting clothing of any kind are allowed.
     
  • No ripped clothing, clothing with holes or clothing with tears is allowed.
     
  • No low cut shirts of any kind are allowed, CLEAVAGE MUST BE COMPLETELY COVERED.
     
  • Midriffs/stomachs must be completely covered.
     
  • No tank tops are allowed, shoulders must be covered
     
  • Shirts displaying alcohol, drugs, gang signs, vulgarity, or offensive writing/pictures are not allowed.
     
  • Visitors who appear to be under the influence or smell of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to visit.
     
  • Clothing that appears to be see through or transparent is not allowed.
     
  • No sagging pants or exposure of under garments will be allowed.
     
  • Pants must be at waist level
     
  • No food or drink is allowed in the waiting or visitation area.
     
  • Visitors who are outside of a 150 miles radius from the Chatham County Detention Center will be allowed a 45 minute visit(Visitors Must provide Documentation of Residence)
     
  • Visitation may be canceled without notice by the facility.
